Article: Idaho Governor and Health Bureaucrats Use Threat of Lawsuits To Get Businesses to Enforce Mandates

Idaho Governor Brad Little abandons all pretense of being under the rule of law as he asserts total control over the legislative branch.

If an Idaho governor declares emergency powers, it may last for a maximum of 90 days, at which time the Idaho State Senate is legally required to restore representative government.  Little blew past the legal deadline more than 60 days ago and now is saying that the Senate can’t meet without his approval.  When they do meet they can only discuss bills he has approved.

Ammon Bundy joined David Knight to explain what happened last week as concerned citizens converged on the capitol and his arrest for protesting the removal of independent journalists.

“There’s a fight going on in Idaho, where they have a Republican Governor and a Republican Legislature, and yet the Republican Governor is acting like the colonial governors from a bit before 1776,” David Knight reported on 8/31/2020’s show.

“At the center of all this is Ammon Bundy, who got arrested a couple of times because of it.  If only 1% of America fought as hard for freedom as Ammon Bundy does then we wouldn’t be in the state we’re in right now.”

Regarding Idaho’s laws on the exercise of emergency powers, Bundy explains,  “On the 90th day, the legislatures are supposed to convene and take that power back.  Those laws are very clear in Idaho, that is to make sure that we don’t have a dictator that comes in under the name of the governor and declares emergency powers indefinitely.”

Bundy continues,  “June 23rd was the 90th day.  And some of the legislatures did convene, they understood this law, but it wasn’t enough to make a quorum.”

Even more worrying was the Governor’s response,  “The Governor’s lawyers said that the legislature has no power to convene without the Governor calling them together.  Which we know, how could that be possible, they’re supposed to be equal branches of government,”  said Bundy.

David Knight:  “So the Governor is saying that the Legislature is subordinate to him.  It sounds like colonial America, where you had the governors dismiss the Legislature when they tried to do anything they didn’t like.”

Ammon Bundy:  “That’s exactly right.  It’s one of the primary complaints in the Declaration of Independence, it couldn’t be more clear.  And then, to add insult to an already oozing open wound in Idaho, about 45 to 50 days later the Governor said ‘I’m going to convene the Legislature’ but he then ordered that only specific things were able to be addressed in the Legislature’s path.  The main one was an immunity bill.”

Knight describes the immunity bill, saying,  “They’re justifying it by saying ‘we need legal immunity because everybody is so lawsuit-happy, if we let businesses open, people will say, ‘I got COVID because your restaurant was open’ or, ‘you didn’t follow Fauci’s rules close enough.'”

Knight continues,  “I’m all for stopping frivolous lawsuits that couldn’t be proven but could bankrupt small businesses with a long court battle.  But what they’re saying is they’re going to extend legal immunity only IF the businesses implement all of our mandates for social distancing and so forth.  Only they get immunity, if you don’t do that then you’re allowed to be sued frivolously.”

Bundy replied,  “This isn’t a tool to help businesses, it’s a weapon to force businesses to comply with the Governor’s mandates.  To force his mandates on the people or they will not be able to buy food, they will not be able to get supplies, they will not be able to go to work.  It is absolutely commercial control over the people.  The Governor is saying you won’t be immune under this bill if you’re not complying with our orders.”

Knight concluded,  “This is the globalist tactic.  They want to run this through the corporations that will work with them as crony capitalists.  They’ll look after Walmart and the airlines etc, so long as they push government ‘guidelines’.  They’ll make sure they stay in business while destroying the businesses of their competitors who don’t go along.  Then they can use the same tactic they used to shut us down on social media, they can say ‘see it’s not us, it’s the private businesses.'”
